MCP Shelf

The MCPea API

Developers

Everything on the shelf is available to agents and scripts: an MCP server your assistant can call, a small read-only REST API and feeds. No API key, no sign-up.

MCP server

Add MCP Shelf to your assistant and ask it things like “find me a Postgres MCP server and give me the Cursor config”. It uses Streamable HTTP, needs no sign-in and only reads data.

Endpoint
https://mcpshelf.co/mcp
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http mcpshelf https://mcpshelf.co/mcp
Cursor (~/.cursor/mcp.json) and Claude Desktop
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "mcpshelf": {
      "url": "https://mcpshelf.co/mcp"
    }
  }
}
VS Code (.vscode/mcp.json)
{

    "mcpshelf": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcpshelf.co/mcp"
    }
  }
}

In ChatGPT, add https://mcpshelf.co/mcp as a custom connector with no authentication. See the ChatGPT guide.

Caching and limits

Data refreshes from the database once a day, so there is no point polling more often than that. There is no key and no hard rate limit; please keep it to a few requests a second. Questions or ideas: mcpshelf@gmail.com.
